So the fourth round of the series has been and gone and it was a tale of two halves. I went and helped and a friend and also raced myself
I’d worked hard and prepped two cars, to be ready for the weekend. The layout was a nice one, once we’d adapted it Sunday morning.
For me, I made a few small changes to the car to try and improve it. I changed the front droop and ads height, to give me more toe in on power and the car was pure dynamite.
Practice was fast, and I had 3/4 tenths in my back pocket.
Q1-q3 were very good. My only issue came when I was lapping some drivers who were locked in battles with others. As they didn’t move aside fast, as it would upset the rhythm. I understand fully that they don’t want to be moved or distracted.
Q4 was going well until I found a back marker who took me out after he let me go. I was a little annoyed tbh,
For the final I got away smooth and round the first lap and then just pulled after about 3/30mins I was on the back of 2nd and 3rd, 3rd let me through but I was stuck then. So I let him back through but it was only a lap to go.
Meaning I took the win with one more round to go to see if I can wrap up the championship early.
My mate who I had been helping. He had a really good day. From the off, his car looked smooth and he raced well. From q2 we made changes to his car, changing upper wishbones and changing top decks. He drove v well. Tried a shell change but sadly it broke. His final he was on for 2nd in the b, which for him is massive moves forward. As I turned to get ready for my race he broke with two laps to go. Big shame but shows what hours of prep can do. He tells me he’s happy with his implements but, to do that you need a car beneath you to do it. And it’s that fine balance
Anyway 3 weeks and we don’t all again
