Round one of the speewurx summer series at the Louth club has been and gone. Tbh I was excited by the event, first time in three months I had used my xray x4 2024. I had prepped well for the event, and I was ready for it

Sat night we setup the track which was a smaller track but had a nice flow to it.

Sunday morning was an early wake up call due to getting the finishing touches ready for the event. One round of practice followed by four qualifiers and one final. It was ftq so each round would count. I was able to take four rounds of qualifying, with the fastest time. The last round would have been my best except for a body tuck.

I made couple of small changes such as droop and a thicker diff, but my car was still difficult in higher speed, dialling down steering lock would have been my next thing to do.

I’d driven well all day and in the finals I finally came a cropper at the second corner. Hitting it going to the back of the field. Then getting back past two before another mistake but I was soon back behind the leader three. One by one they made mistakes until I got behind race leader Jay Kay, he’s a smooth operator and top fella to race and pit with. I was all over the back of him until he just let me through. No idea why as id of preferred to earn it. But he said it was the right thing to do. So I took the win

My package was mega all day, and I was happy with my driving baring the final. Just gotta look over it and go again, as I need to find some more time

But was a nice event and good to get back at it. 3 weeks time we go again
