So I sit here three/ four days ahead of round three of the Schumacher indoor winter series. And I’m prepared to a point. And it’s made me wonder
Firstly getting the numbers for our events right now is a pain in the bum. We need 33 entries due to hall costs and due to PayPal. And it’s such hard work, and I feel I doing it alone, but when we don’t achieve numbers it will all fall back on myself . clashing with events and many popping up over the area is a pain in the ass. I put so much work into these events that I hate to see them fail. And given there isn’t the support in our area to race either.
Tyres…. It’s been a big talking points since our open club event. I’ve had whispers that people believe that I’m cheating the to additives that I’m using. And that simply isn’t the case, I put in hard work asking questions so that I can maximise my results. And it frustrates me that others want that handed over . The last lot of additive I got smelt wrong and I used it for two meets, wrong choice I know. So that’s maybe on me. Tyres wel, we don’t know what going to happen at Louth. Everyone has an opinion, but our track and venue are very different.
Prep… well it’s been hard to find time to be prepared tbh. With a young family and working til late ish I don’t get the chance. When I do get the time, I’m tired and not motivated. But about a week early I’m prepared I think. The cars had a full drivetrain prep, diff a new gasket, new front hex on the car. Repaired my shell and got some body tuck stiffeners. I had thoughts of swapping esc of the car back to my nosram but have decided against. I wait now until Friday eve/ Sat morning to freshen my shocks and we go again on Sunday. It’s the last one before Christmas and I want a strong result, and to make amends for last years absolutely shit result where I made the b final before Christmas. That still haunts me and motivates me a lot.
So the next time I write here we will hopefully be done with the event, and fingers crossed have had a good event. But nothing is guaranteed.
Until the next one peace out
