Finally got round to writing about the first round of the series
It was a mega event, we at the club pulled out all the stops to ensure it not only look the business but was the business. All the banners, new rostrum and netting.
Onto the racing
Practice was mixed, grip was low. The car felt consistent but not rapid fast. Back the pits to do some checks. Ride height, and esc was checked to give me more punch and a better feeling car
Race 1- the car was fast, I was able to pull a gap and do the business. Same for round two
Round 2- more of the same, this time with a thicker diff to make the drive more off the corner. I lost initial only slightly but car was fast
Round three- on for another tq until some tape caught me rolled me, even though I could pull it back it wasn’t enough.
Round four- another solid run, this time no issues at all.
I made only slight and minor changes to the car. Top deck screws and diff oil, otherwise keeping on top of the car
The final
I was pressured early doors, but kept it clean and precise. After a couple of mins I could build a gap after Alex Brocklebank and his Schumacher. He was then in a race with Dan Burks and his destiny chassis. And I could take it to the flag to get victory st the first round of the series. I hope it’s not a repeat of last years series where I won the first then had issues galore.
Next event will be with the new 24 xray and I can’t wait for it
