Plans changed fast, I was going to race my frontie but the number of drivers increased as did the quality . So I raced my xray 23 for the second time.
Having a less then restful night sleep due to my newborn, I arrived with the track compete, set up my pits and go on with the job. Three quail rounds and two finals a little mix up on what’s normally used . Also fastest time of the day instead of round by round.
First two rounds my car was effortless, no need to change anything. I didn’t make a mistake. The last round I clipped a corner and got a body tuck. Went to one Marshall who didn’t sort it, but the next did, somehow I pulled it back in to take the win in that round. Two finals, and made my first decent mistake, clipped a corner and rolled onto the other side of the track. No Marshall’s near so rejoined now last and half a lap back. Got back to 4th, and so close to third. Last final and it was plan sailing, main thing is to get over the first few laps, mistakes from others helped and just cruises home.
Things to take away….. well some appreciate your help and other don’t.
That’s it’s for six weeks now due to family commitments, so not until April I’ll be racing again
