Once again what a week it was before the event. I spoke about prep in my previous blog, but I tried so hard to prepare the best car I could.

Mid week I wasn’t happy so spoke to my mate who had borrowed my other car, so I could use it. I then prepped it and I wasn’t happy again so went back to my x4. I then had to prepare his car.

Still at it Saturday morn and again I was up against it. Not the ways I wanted it.

Race day, practice was good setting the hot lap. My car felt great. Race one was a dnf, didn’t even start the race. The same issue I had last meeting, hoping I had solved it with a sensor lead. So I swapped motor back to my trusty older hobbywing g3r. From the off the car was good sitting second maybe first in the run. Then 5 laps in a pinion lost. Grub screw departed. After two runs I was plum last. I regathered and went again. My car was fast, I had a few excursions, meaning my result wasn’t as good as it should of been. P3 overall. Pace was there I just needed to rock it round. Q4 I caught an infamous bump, caught the barrier and my battery departed. Marshall put it back in and I got back out there. Still a p9 overall. Which is a shame. At my local club it should be fairly easy for me to make the top heat and challenge for the top. This result gave my mate the championship. Luck hasn’t been on my side. And tbh I’m kind of gutted. My sim is to be the xray top driver, pushing against all the Schumacher cars now at the club. And I let that down.

When I will race again I don’t know due to the impending birth of my first child. So I may make the next event I may not. If not then even a top three in the championship will be hard work. Given some of the scores I’ve had to drop

My car and package has been great. And I can only blame my driving. Yes I try to help out others but I lose focus on my own stuff. The first race meeting of the series is the only meeting I’ve been prepared for in good advance and it kinda showed. So after Christmas I will prepare, hopefully have my new car the xray x4 23. Just incase it’s possible to race
