Emc Round 2

So as I mentioned in my previous post, I decided quite late to do the 2nd round of the East Midlands championship held at the newark club. They are the next closest club to Louth being an hour and abit away, so not too far. They run on the same carpet as the Louth club, and I’ve attended the club a few times in the past.

So to the day. A hectic weekend with many things happening at my house. Got to the meeting, first thing I’d forget my charger but got lucky that a friend had a spare port on his Icharger. So I was saved!!!

I had to make a decision on the morning, because I was out in the first heat. Having been to the club before, and they knowing my ability, it was still decided I would start in the bottom heat. I was place car one in the heat, and the other racers we all knew each other so damage limitation. The decision was on the diff oil and the bodyshell. Practice I changed my shell to the speciale twister, it was smoother and easy to drive but the grip level was poor. Even on the hudy 28 tyres. I’ve run all winter on the contact a30 which are harder and cheaper. I expected the tyres to switch in like the old sorex 28, sadly wasn’t the case.

After practice I was still in the top couple of drivers even with track evolution. I was happy with the car but changed the diff to a lighter one . Race one the car was excellent, easy to drive even in the low grip. I had some understeer though, so decided to go to a bodyshell I use a lot At Louth. The og twister, but fitted with a speciale wing. Mounted 5mm back, this combination brought the car since, the front end was much better. I kept this combination for q3 thinking we had four qualifying runs. This wasn’t the case. I took tq, nearly two laps clear of the rest of the field. For the final I wanted more front end, so went to a change I’ve not experimented with a lot. Split top decks!! So the final was an experiment, hoping I wouldn’t lose too much pace. The car was again amazing this time more Alive, yes a little more aggressive but it was fast. Rotated amazingly, the tyres finally felt what I hoped they’d be.

In the end I was able to take the two finals in comfortable fashion. The best 10 to my best lap was close, so I felt good with the car and my combination. The xray gives me confidence, even when many other racers are swapping over to the British manufacturer Schumacher. As an Rcdisco driver there is only so much I can do to represent. My nosram esc and batteries, the braking performance gives so much confidence. It’s one of the best decisions I’ve made to swap to the brand, and I’m lucky to have support with the products.

So what next……..

I have a weekend off before louths round two of the Schumacher winter series. Plenty to do at home with the renovations, so will need to get the prep done early

Whilst this happens I’m waiting on the new Xray x4 23 which had an amazing debut in the U.K. over the past weekend

So game on 🤟
